Taylor
Taylor Swift, the rarest pop sensation, is one who was able to transcend from the country genre to mainstream culture, and has become an idol of the pop world. The singer also swept all over the world through her music. Swift dropped country as if it was a second layer and proved that she's perhaps the best pop-singer/songwriter in her generation. Someone who is able to harness the zeitgeist to make it personal and also be able to perform at the opposite. The skills she displayed were apparent on her earliest hits especially the Neo-tribute Tim McGraw but her second album 2008's Fearless showed a writer discovering the person she really was, and in the process finding an audience of mass. Fearless was an enormous success not just in the United States with it's Top Ten singles Love Story as well as You Belong with Me helped it to achieve six platinum records however, it also swept the world. The album was particularly successful in Canada, Australia in Australia and Canada. U.K. Swift was able to consolidate her popularity through Speak Now almost two year later. Over the next three years, her popularity increased -- Red (2012), Reputation (2014) as well as 1989 (2014-2015) during which time she entered a new arena of pop with her skills already well established. She was on top of the charts even after she changed her own style on her sister albums Folklore and Evermore in the year 2020.
