The actress is best known as Kate Capshaw, an American actress who has retired. Her part as Willie Scott (an American nightclub performer and singer) in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), that was directed by her eventual husband Steven Spielberg, is her most well-known. She has been in Dreamscape (1984), Power(1986), SpaceCamp(1986), Black Rain (1989), Love Affair (94), Just Cause (1995) and The Love Letter (1999). Capshaw is a portrait artist who has been featured in the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery Capshaw was born Kathleen Sue Nail in Fort Worth Texas. She is the daughter of Beverley Sue Simon (nee Simon), beauty therapist and travel agent and Edwin Leon Nail, an employee at the airline. Capshaw was five years old when she moved to St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Hazelwood Senior High School. Capshaw earned a degree in education from the University of Missouri, where she was a part of Alpha Delta Pi. She taught special education at Southern Boone High School in Ashland, Missouri, and Rock Bridge High School in Columbia, Missouri.
