Lynda Carter
Carter was born in Phoenix as the daughter Juanita (nee Cordova) and Colby Carter. Her mother is from Mexico is Mexican, Spanish and French. She is the daughter of Vincent, a brother, and Pamela and Pamela, who are sisters. Carter has made her television debut on Lew King's Talent Show at age 5. Carter joined a band called Just Us during high school. The band used a marimba, conga drums, an acoustic, stand-up bass, and an electric. One of the girls in the group also played guitar. Lynda began to sing at a local pizza place when she was just 15. After age 16, Lynda joined two cousins in forming another group, The Relatives. The drummer of the group was Gary Burghoff, an actor. The band debuted in Las Vegas at the Sahara Hotel & Casino Lounge. Carter was 21 years old when she first entered the kitchen. After being named "Most Talented" in her final year, she decided to pursue a career in music. Carter auditioned for The Garfin Gathering in 1970. The group then embarked on a the road together with Howard (Speedy), Garfin. Their first concert together was at Holiday Inn Chinatown, a San Francisco hotel that had no sidewalk access. The hotel's staff as well as hotel guests parked their cars in the underground parking garage , meaning that they were mainly performing for the hotel's guests. The Garfin Gathering toured the Nevada "Silver Circuit" and performed shows in numerous casinos in the state's lounges in between Lake Tahoe, Carson City, Reno, and Las Vegas. Carter chose to walk away from the Garfin Gathering in 1972 to pursue acting. She then returned to Arizona.
